We're building the next wave of Citizen First places – and looking for the partners to build it with.
The independent evaluation of our Liverpool City Region programme, by Brunel University of London and Northumbria University, found £10.43 of social and economic value for every £1 invested in the first year alone – and concluded that the model "warrants expansion to other towns and city regions". Conversations with the next places are already underway.
"Every Mayoral Strategic Authority and city region could benefit profoundly from such a programme."
— Chris Barton, Director of Local and International Growth, Department for Business and Trade
In Liverpool, more than 50 organisations played a part. Whether you're a combined authority, local council, university, business, housing association or place-based funder, there's a role: from commissioning or funding a cohort in your area, to providing the mentorship, expertise and opportunities that help entrepreneurs build.
